You can walk the walk

I’m walking down Guadalupe. The traffic light turns red and the walk sign flashes white, signaling the okay for pedestrians to cross Guadalupe. At the exact instant, the 24th Street traffic light flashes green, permitting drivers to turn onto Guadalupe. Conflict? I think so.

Though this happens on a repetitive cycle every fifty seconds, a particularly disgruntled driver proclaimed his impatience with a honk directed to the innocent pedestrians.

Much to the amazement of the driver, a pedestrian actively took a stance against such blatant victimization. In the middle of the street, car in motion, he turns and slaps the driver’s side window! With one swoop of the fist, the pedestrian hit the car. Oh, the irony. I wish I was close enough to see the surprise on the driver’s face as the pedestrian glared at him through the glass.

It’s the little moments in life that keep me amused.
